iFind™ PSP™ Media Portal - 4.0 PRO Luminos
Designed for your PSP™ media life.
Thank-you very much for using iFind™ and joining the other 25,000+ users around the world.
How to Install
Installation is a very, very simple process. You must have about 6.5MBs of space to install iFind on your PSP (that isn't very big considering that's about 1-2 song(s) on your PSP only).
Before beginning, make sure you have:
- A PSP™ with FW 2.0 and over*, Homebrew internet browsers will do too
- A USB to mini USB cable
- A computer running on OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista or any OS with USB support
- A MemoryStick™ DUO
- 2 minutes of your time
*2.7X FW and over is recommended for Flash support
Let's Begin!
1. Turn on your PSP and computer and attach your USB cable ends where necessary
2. Set the PSP to USB mode
3. Open up your PSP's™ MemoryStick™ DUO
4. Unzip and copy and paste the iFind folder into /PSP/COMMON
5. Open up your browser and type file:/PSP/COMMON/iFind/entry.html (default pass is pass)
6. Bookmark this page and you’re done, that's the last time you'll ever type in another ultra long file address!
How to Use iFind™
Open up your PSP™ browser and open up iFind™ in your bookmarks (if you cannot see it, repeat step 5 and continue). iFind™ will start up it's splash screen and will prompt for your passkey, your default passkey is "pass". When it loads the next page, known has the home screen, you will see a set of icons aligned at the top and a finder which is conveniently located in the middle of the screen. iFind™ can view images not located in the PHOTOS or PICTURES folder of your PSP™, so secret or private images can be browsed by iFind™. iFind™ will also conveniently open any media format the PSP™ browser supports without typing in any long file addresses. iFind's™ finder can open up media in two ways, on top of iFind™ or in a new tab. iFind™ also has a sub web browser that works inside the PSP's™, using iFind's™ sub-web browser, LiNK, it will allow you to hypothetically browse up to nine tabs at a time or listen to music whilst browsing music with the inbuilt Jukebox. iFind™ also has a range of inbuilt applications and games, most will require Flash to be enabled, and some will require WiFi access. You can also chat on iFind™ using babblr (allows access to AIM, MSN and YIM) or the LiNK chat room, both will require internet access. There is also a links page that has a vast amount of assorted formatted links to make browsing on the PSP™ easier and more enjoyable. iFind™ also has an online serviced named the LiNK Centre where you can get updates, news, more games, applications and many other things 24/7. Your wallpaper may also be changed on the PSP™ without the need of a computer in the settings panel, iFind™ will only accept wallpapers with the .PNG extension.
Using The Jukebox
The Jukebox allows you to listen to music whilst you browse the web in iFind. The Jukebox will allow a maximum of 15 songs in it's playlist. Music must be named with the file names 'track1.mp3', 'track2.mp3', 'track3.mp3' and etc and placed in the music folder of iFind (PSP/COMMON/iFind/music). Tracks that are added must be .MP3 and be at a bitrate of 16kbps, to compress .MP3 files at a bitrate of 16kbps, find a .MP3 compressor or use iTunes to convert the tracks at a lower bitrate.
Changing The Passkey
To change the passkey, simply open the entry.html file with a text editor such as TextEdit or NotePad and look for 'pass', changing that inside the quotations will change your passkey. Do not attempt to edit anything unless you are completely sure, if you do break the code; re-download it at http://cronos.recoding.net.
Removing The Passkey Protection Feature
To remove the passkey protection feature from iFind™ simply delete the existing iFind™ bookmark and make file:/PSP/COMMON/iFind/index.html your new bookmark.
