This manual assumes that you have been successfull in programming and installing WiiFree.

Explanation about the LEDs:
Installation of the LEDs is optional.

Status |LED behaviour
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IDLE |One steady LED one blinking LED (the blinking LED indicated that the chip communicates with the drive)
Patching |Both LEDs are steady
Patching successfull |The steady LED toggles, the blinking LED starts blinking again
Patching unsuccessfull |The steady LED does not toggle, the blinking LED starts blinking again
Configuration of region |alternate blinking of both LEDs for a shor period of time

Setting the region:
The WiiFree needs to know the region of your Wii drive to be able to play import games, it only has to be done once. This can be done in several ways:
1. Automatic detection of the region
2. Setting the region by configuration DVD
3. Changing the region byte in the EEprom data before programming the PIC chip

1. The first time a Wii game is successfully started the WiiFree automatically sets the region to that of the game that just successfully started.
2. In order to use the configuration DVD, you need a gamecube controller connected to port 1. The configuration DVD sets the region to the region of the configuration DVD (check the names of the isos). You can also disable regionpatching by using the configuration DVd.
3. Byte 0x00 of the EEprom data is being used to store the region, you can change this by hand before programming the chip. Set it to the following values:
0x00 JAP
0x01 USA
0x02 EUR
0xFF autodetection
0xFE disable regionpatching

Setting the speed:
The default speed of the drive is maximum speed. This should be a good choice, but if you would really like to change it, you can :-).
There are two possible ways to set the speed.
1. Configuration DVD
2. Changing the speedbyte in the EEprom data before programming the PIC chip

1. See the description for setting the region
2. Byte 0x01 of the EEprom data contains the speedsetting, you can change this by hand before programming the chip.
Set it to the following values:
0x00 low speed
0x01 medium speed
0xFF full speed

Using the LCD:

-Use the point X in the edited installation picture for a +5v point.
-Code should work on any hd4480 LCD display.
Thats the controller, if you don't know if you have one, you probably do.
-Go see transformers
-Use the schematic that is included and everything will be fine.
Remember, only connect the overlapping wires if there's a pink dot. Otherwise ur fucked.

Troubleshooting:
* Nothing is detected, not even original games
This might be the case if the region wasn't set properly. It has been observed in some rare cases that the automatic region detection detected the wrong region. You can fix this by starting the configuration DVD and resetting the region. Or by reprogramming WiiFree to your PIC.
* Originals work, backups don't
Make sure that you use good media to burn your backups. Check the wiring of your chip. Install the LEDs to see if one is blinking. If it is not blinking, then either the wiring is wrong or you didn't program the chip properly. (check: www.wiinewz.com in the forums for lots of information about this).

If you're still having troubles, report them on the WiiFree forum on www.wiinewz.com
