PSP 2.71

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this question. But is there any idea as to when, or if, an emulator for PSP 2.71 can be expected?

No, as of right now there are absolutely no homebrew options for 2.71, except for flash homebrew, but other than that, if you upgraded from a lower firmware such as 2.01 or less, you may be able to get a modchip if you don't have a TA-082 motherboard. Other than that sorry buddy.

Downgrader

Guess I'll be waiting for an emulator to come along for 2.71. I have a downgradable motherboard, but it says it needs a bigger stick than 32MB and my 1GB is full of songs. :(

You pretty much have no chance of getting an emulator to run on your psp, because there are no know exploits, and you cannot downgrade anything above 2.6, sorry you will either have to get a modchip or buy a new psp/ trade in your current one.

Not unless we find a new exploit (very unlikely), but there is probably going to be some flash developers working on higher end applications and games, but if you are that bored you can always just download a flash saving application so you can play flash games wherever you are.

Also the comment on everyone getting a mod chip... that may not be true anymore. Due to the release of a 1.5 to 1.0 downgrader, I think people will want to save their money and avoid risking breaking their PSP by having to take it apart, and instead downgrade to 1.0, then use a custom firmware update to be able to play whatever they want. So basically, instead of booting from two different flashes, you can just make the one you would put on the chip your actual firmware. So many of us can save $100+, unless you are one of those unlucky 2.7(1) users who upgraded and do not have a
TA-082 motherboard, then you don't have many alternatives other than the modchip.
