Help with Job Island (PAL) and Error #002

Hello and good day.
This is my first post in this forum so please bear with me.

I have a 3.2U USA Wii installed GeckoOS.
Recently my cousin gave me a backup copy of Job Island (PAL). I tried playing it by going to the Homebrew > GeckoOS but it gave me a blue screen with an message saying something about an Error#002.
I've patched the game using a tutorial (which I can't seem to remember if I found it here on another forum) and tested the game again. So, I went to GeckoOS with the game disk popped on and it only loads so far as the GeckoOS trying to read it and it just stays there. Nothing happens.

Can someone help me or point me to the right direction on how I can play this game?
My sister and I have been trying to play it since we got it three days ago.

Thank you in advance for the help you all may impart on us.

Hi, I had that problem too, and it can be solved by installing Waninkoko's Custom IOS36 rev 08

How do you install it and is it risky to do so?
Also, what's the difference between using that and using the GeckoOS fix that some sites are talking about?

Thank you for the help.

To install it you just run the cios36rev8 installer in your SD card, just like any other app through the homebrew channel, and choose network installation. It isn't riskier than any other cios.

I don't really know the difference, because I didn't try with the GeckoOs fix. But I can tell you that installing the cios worked for me. Maybe you may give the geckoos fix a try since you are using GeckoOs to run your backups

Sorry for the multitude of questions, but I'm still new with using the Wii.
Anyways, another question...

I already have a GeckoOS installed (one that doesn't have a fix), do I just over-write it on the SD card?
Also, that cios-thingy, that would work even if I don't know if my Wii is chipped or not?

Yes you just overwrite it in your sd card and run it through the hbc. Or if you are unsure you can copy the fix in another directory inside the app directory and have both versions.
Yes the cios works wheter you have a modchip or not.

Thank you for the information, punkelias.
I'll try adding the fix on the SD card first, and if that doesn't work, I'll follow your method...
One final question before that (sorry again for the numerous queries) but I don't have to do anything to the backup using your method, right? I just need to install the cios and the game would work?

That's right you don't need to do anything else. Just play your backups like you have been playing them after the 002 error.

It works now (tried it with the 002 Fix of the GeckoOS) but after selecting a job for the first time it gives me the 'Disc Could Not Be Read' error. That's a problem with how the game was backed up, right?

Anyways, thanks a lot for the help, punkelias.
