Zelda help

just got this for wii, Im at the first lvl and I need to catch fish to lure the cat back into the village.

the probelm is I cant catch the fish they wont even go near the rod. Do I need bait or something?

No bait needed, you simple just wait until the little pole goes under, once it does, swing you're wii up and wait until its on.

Make sure you are fishing off the small dock where the cat is hanging around. You also have to make sure the cat is near you... my cousin tried that part on the GC version and she chaised the cat away first, so when she was fishing it wasn't working... lol.
