Save Copy Protection

I have to ask why does this website have PS3 game saves for tons of games that have protection from being played in other user profiles. I mean seriously what is the point of have a Dead Space save data if I cant load it the damn thing.

Re: Save Copy Protection

Well, at one point in time, you could do it. (Before trophies.)
We kept them here and now, if you hack your PS3, you can use them now.

Re: Save Copy Protection

Does anyone know of any hack that will let me do that? I mean that would be pretty helpful.

Re: Save Copy Protection

What if, lets say you download a game save from Steve (that is his PSN) & you create a new profile on your PS3 & loaded the game save on that profile. Would that work? Or would you need his password & stuff.

Just brain storming..to be honest, I cannot get past some of the later levels & would to go thur the entire game w/the magnum & blow the heads off the guys..LOL

Re: Save Copy Protection

i would try loading his PSN on your console first. Then put the save on his account. If that allows you to play then I would explore other ways.

I said it wrong..sorry

I meant, I don't know the person who origanlly uploaded the game. Just using his/her PSN to load it on PS3.

My other question is, is the any way to bypass this? PS3 hack, jailbreak ETC..

Re: Save Copy Protection

Re: Save Copy Protection

It's for the RE5

I saw it on there, I loaded in on my USB, installed on my PS3. It says the normal can't load a file from another.

I did it both ways, w/out the 2.0 patch (wouldn't let it load & as I played it didn't save my progress)
With the patch, it's on there but doesn't show up on the gmae menu..just under the save utility.

I just want to thnk you very much for ansewring my questions. Some of the computer lingo I just do not understand.

I saw this on one of the stickys & I'm going to try it tonight.

Its the same as the tutorial you have i just noticed except they only copied

PARAM.PFD
USR-DATA

Link here

Like i posted in the locked thread i'm fairly sure that the PS3 refuses to see files not installed via the XMB, it seems more like sony were planning for the console to get hacked and designed a file management system to hinder people as much as possible, with the saves i think you'll need to have played a game and created a save in order to replace the above files, i confirm the above worked fine with star ocean 4, until we have a way to mount and edit the file DB's i guess this is how things will have to be done, unless some bright enterprising individual can create a .pkg that copies blank versions of the required save files which in theory should force the PS3 to now see the saves but its only a theory and i can't code at all

ace: Please try not to double post next time, thanks :)

Re: Save Copy Protection

Ok, guys I know you guys must get really tired of the same questions being answered, but here goes..

I have tried loading some RE5 game saves, but no avail..

I tried to follow the sticky about how to use a game save that doesn't belong to you, & it still isn't working.

Am I doing something wrong or is it even possible.

Re: Save Copy Protection

Are you talking about Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition?

Resident Evil 5 isn't copy protected, only Gold Edition is. Unless you have upgraded your firmware?

Re: Save Copy Protection

Just replied, well I guess it's because you have the Greatest hits edition, that's why it's copy protected. I never bother with platinum versions myself, as I don't like the lining on the front covers. This is another one to add to the list of locked saves.
