Long Drying Time Issue

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s going on with my dryer. Over the last few weeks, clothes have been taking much longer to dry than usual. A cycle that used to take around 45 minutes now sometimes takes nearly two hours, and even then some items still come out slightly damp. I’ve cleaned the lint trap regularly, so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’ve also noticed that the laundry room feels warmer than normal when the dryer is running. Has anyone experienced something similar before? I’m wondering if this could be related to the vent system or if there might be another cause I should look into first.

I had very similar symptoms a while back. In my case, the dryer itself was working fine, but airflow was restricted somewhere in the vent system. It caused longer drying times and extra heat in the room. There can be a few possible reasons, though, including lint buildup, vent configuration issues, or even problems with the outside exhaust. It’s definitely worth investigating sooner rather than later because reduced airflow can affect efficiency and put additional strain on the appliance. Checking the entire vent path is usually a good starting point.

Have you tried contacting Dryer Vent Cleaning Today? The symptoms you described sound very similar to what happened in my house. I kept cleaning the lint trap and thought the dryer itself was the problem, but the real issue turned out to be restricted airflow in the vent line. They specialize in Toronto dryer vent cleaning and deal with situations where dryers take much longer to dry clothes, produce excess heat, or leave laundry slightly damp after a cycle. In my case, the laundry room was also getting unusually warm. It might be worth having the vent system inspected before spending money on appliance repairs, especially since a blocked vent can cause both performance and safety issues over time.
