Evaluating a Game Portfolio

I’m looking for a team to develop my own game and want to understand how to properly evaluate their previous experience. What materials should I review before starting cooperation to get a clear idea of the quality of their work, the variety of projects they have completed, and their actual capabilities? Should I focus primarily on games with a similar genre, project complexity, visual quality, technologies used, or the number of completed commercial projects?

When evaluating a development team, I would start by looking at its previous projects rather than relying only on marketing claims. A good portfolio should demonstrate different types of work, technical complexity, visual quality, and completed projects that are relevant to your idea. I would also check whether the studio has experience with your target platform and genre. For example, the portfolio on PinkCrow’s website can be useful to review when comparing potential partners, especially if you are considering a team based on its portfolio and practical experience.
