I am new to the whole homebrew thing. I am glad to join you guys.
I am new, so some links on how to get started would be cool, like to some tutorials or anything that a newb needs to know.
My psp version is 2.71
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Just look through the first 2 or 3 pages of the tutorial section and you'll see all you need to know. There's a 2.71 downgrader tutorial on like the first page, and another one to upgrade to 3.40OE-A. I'm sure there will be a tutorial soon to upgrade to 3.51M33. All the ones I mentioned for you to upgrade to, are custom firmwares. Custom firmware (abbreviated as cfw) can run homebrew. Read through the tutorial section though first and THEN ask questions after looking for a similar help topic to the one your about to post. And that's bout it, just read the rules. HOpe you post a lot.

Plug a usb cord up to the psp and use the psp to go into USB mode.
