Just got a 2001 - Need Suggestions

So my mate decided he didn't need his PSP anymore, so I offered to buy it (I already have a go, but I regret selling my fat with CFW, and wanted to get back into the scene a bit). It's been two years since I've even looked at a Hackable PSP, and the firmware I was using was 3.40 OE-A. My guess is that that is quite obsolete by now, so I wanted to know what you guys would do.

Firmware: 6.31 OFW
I have a Pandora's battery that I made a long-ass time ago, but pfft, It isn't charged; hehe.

Oh, and I got it for a six pack, so I'm not going to cut myself if I brick it.

I know. lol, I was wondering which firmware to install, and some of the pros/cons of various ones. Basically, what is the latest trend in firmware amongst today's PSPBrew community? (And Why?)

No cons to 5.00 M33-6. You can play games that require 6.31!

ooh, M33 is by DA, right? That was the whole reason I stayed on 3.40OE, nobody was sure if it was Sony trying to get us, or if it was the real deal. lol

meh, hit up 5.50 gen d-2... you can play games upto 9.90 ... and I'm serious...

I put an M33 firmware on my buds PSP a while back (June or something), and it seemed fairly stable, plus it looked damn smexy with the red on black in debug mode.

WHA?! Ace, M33 has every feature that OE has and more.

I say 9.90 because if you try to update to OFW from gen d-2 it says the system software is already 9.90...

and crait, gen can do anything m33 can.

Da Cool Man, Gen has no where near the plug-in support that M33 has. And besides, what if 7.00 firmware and up uses a whole new architecture? That would be impossible for the current Gen to play the newer games. Oh, and the highest firmware you can use it 9.99, by the way. :O

Just slapped on 5.00 m33-6, Loving it so far. iso/cso patching only takes thirty seconds of my day, so I don't care. lol, I wouldn't trust anything that wasn't from D~A anyway.

You don't need to even patch them with Promethius plugin.
