You have to upgrade to play new games!

omg i JUST found out some HORRIBLE news iw as surfing the web and found this

"Most recently, Sony updated its firmware in order to curb the installation of emulators and other homemade applications on PSP. In order to have all consumers download the new firmware, future games will require the user to update PSP software in order to run the game."

sh*t! its either homebrews or umd...nooooooo!!!

oh hey do u think if we download the games onto memstik with iso's we will be able to play them still?

Ummm Coded Arms already requires an update. This is old new. For now the update is only from 1.0 to 1.50. I assume once 2.0 hits, newer games will require it. Don't worry someone will crack it. It's inevitable. If can be be encrypted it can be decrypted.

There is one worry for me, sony still might consider ramming updates up our donkey when were not looking. You never know, like when we connect at all to the internet they drag us in, or I dont know, but I still think we should be on the lookout.

what people must realize is that i am sure game CREATORS will protest Sony using their game as a required firmware upgrade game. Afterall i wouldn't buy a game if it required the upgrade... so im sure many of you wouldnt either... so they looose ALOT of possible revenue.

Also, it's very unlikely if not IMPOSSIBLE that Sony would upgrade without you knowing. First off If your battery isn't close to full (forgot what percentage) then it makes you plug it in before you update. It does that because if for some reason your battery died while it was updating you would turn your PSP into a brick.

Well I know Coded Arms had it, but that doesn't mean people can't figure a way to remove it or, or make some sort of loader that bypasses updates.

Yeah, I'm just gonna say this again. If you have to upgrad the firmware inorrder to play games...that would suck..but yeah, then again, someone or something will get the hacks out of this.. hehehe
