need some little help with the xbox online

ok since I have a router now, with 4 link ports, one Ethernet cable connected from the dsl modem to the router
am I gonna need a extra Ethernet cable for the Xbox to go online or can it be work with any phone line cable?
I'm thinking about connecting through xbox connect btw.
heres a pic.
the top is the router and the bottom is the dsl modem.

You can take the ethernet cable that comes out of your modem, and plug it directly into your xbox. I used this for my ps2 online and it worked fine, or you have to buy another cable and plug it into one of your ports and than into your xbox.

And for future reference, phone line cable DOES NOT equal ethernet cable...

well I tried that, it just disconnects my internet connection, looks I'm going to need an extra ethernet cable.
Where can I buy one for how much?

Well, yeah it's going to disconnect your internet because your computer isn't connected anymore.
You can buy an ethernet cable anywhere they sell computer stuff... hell, safeway might even have them now. They're pretty commonplace these days.
This is how your setup should be...
(Wall)_____dsl line_____(modem)_____ethernet cable_____(router)______ethernet cable_____(computer)
|_________ethernet cable_____(xbox)

O yea you need your computer to be online too cuz of XBC.

Just buy an extra ethernet cable dude so theres a ethernet cable coming from the router to both your computer and xbox and make sure to forward the ports on the router if it doesn't work the first time. You need the computer and xbox connected to access xbc, but for xbox live all you need is the xbox connected. :p
