First off this belongs in the help section not tutorials.
Is your silver psp a daxter pack or a ratchet pack?
Daxter can be done with pandora and a magic memory stick ( In our tutorials and links can be found from similar help topics )
Ratchet can't be done yet

all he really needs is to get a pandora battery and then use psp grader 8 to make the magic memory stick.

i read somewhere i could unbrick the battery i already have, by taking the bat. out of the psp, then plugging in the power cord to the psp and i guess turning it on. (it said it was to make a pandora battery) does that work? and is there anything I should worry about making these changes to my PsP, (like damaging)?

you could do it this way:
http://psp.brewology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11609 by hard modding your battery, but you cause the risk of breaking your battery.
thats why i prefer buying a $6 pandora battery, opposed to possibly having to buy a $40 replacement.
oh and Steeler12, if you want to update you magic memorystick, psp grader 8 loads DC8.

As far as I can remember, DCv7's trigger button for going to the CFW install menu was the Digital Up key (Up button). At least, mine is and I never tinkered with any settings.
