Description:
A few weeks ago, Art has unveiled the latest version of his newest conquest, the Audio Mechanica V6c. The app was formerly known as the Virtual Tape Recorder and basically what it does is record your voice input through a PSP-compatible microphone (SOCOM headset or Art's Nokia Boom Headset mod). After that, it saves it as a Microsoft-compliant wave file that could be played back in Windows Media Player. The v6c was jampacked with improvements and features, proving to everyobe that Art indeed is a master in what he does.
We all know that he's great and all, but another characteristic of a great dev is selflessness - in the sense that he is willing to share his knowledge in the light that someone out there could make a better job out of it. And share is just what Art did.
Recently, he gave out the source for Audio Mechanica V6c. He hopes that this move "will encourage new programs that use the audio input library over other recorders with one or two added features." He also adds that the Yakback feature puts spoken words into a RAM buffer so that any aspiring dev could try to add voice recognition in this program.
In parting, he mentioned that he "would probably only pick it up again to attempt voice recognition or the like, changing it into another program rather than update the recorder." We here at QJ have a feeling that Art will once again marvel us with another amazing app. But for now, we want to thank him for this gesture and we wish him the best of luck in all his undertakings. Nice one, Art!
