Description: PSP homebrew developer mavy has just informed us of the release of his new app PSXReality Memory Stick Tester (PSXR-MSTester). Based on MSTest from MIB42 (although, according to mavy, he could only find MIB42's .PBP), this app runs a standard batch of tests to test throughput and standard deviation from a memory stick. With PSXR-MSTester, you can check to see if the memory stick you just bought is fake or not.<br><br>Usage<br><br> 1. Simply execute it.<br> 2. Put the memory stick under test on PSP<br> 3. Press START to start the test<br> 4. Look the results and wait.<br> 5. You are now on the main menu and the results.txt is saved in the root. Now you can press SQUARE to see the plot of the results<br> 6. You can press SELECT in order to save an image of the previous plot to post on a webpage p.ex.<br> 7. Triangle exits the application<br><br>Whenever you are on the main menu, you can switch the memory stick and start another test with START.<br><br>Here are a few tips from mavy to make sure that you get accurate results when running PSXR-MSTester:<br><br> * Most important, copy all your files to the harddrive, format the memory using the system menu from PSP, and copy again the files to the memory stick. As it happens on a real HD, fragmentation can affect. A just formatted ultra-II can get more throughput (2MB/s) than a dirty one.<br> * Let the test finish (the duration of the test is proportional at the stability of your ms). In Sony ones, small block sizes last more than other brands. Please be patient. <br> * If possible disconnect running plugins<br> * Share the result.txt (Five columns - BlockSize, MeanWrite, StDevWrite, MeanRead, StDevRead - they are important)<br> * As a summary, result.png is a good way to share results. You can take screenshots to compare your tests results with other people's.
