Description:
One of the better things that CFW 3.90 M33 has to offer is the support for memory sticks bigger that 4GB. However, the most obvious problem here is what about those users who have still not updated to the latest custom firmware.
Homebrew coder extraordinaire Dark AleX is out to solve that exact problem with the release of a new patch. This particular release will give users 8GB memory stick support regardless of what custom firmware they are on.
To avoid any problems, we are posting Dark AleX's exact words on the matter:
I haven't been able to reproduce the problem in my 8GB card, but anyways I think the reason is literally that the memory stick was not ready in the time plugins are loading, although the memory stick modules are loaded, but they require some time to initialize as they are executing code in other thread.
The code in 3.80-3.90 of plugins loading is same, it was probably the change of sony ms driver what altered timings, etc. Try this prx (systemctrl.prx for the phat, systemctrl_02g.prx for the slim), replacing the one of the flash0 kd folder, and tell me if it works after this.
Right after the announcement, DAX decided to released a new version of the patch that check for the insertion of the memory stick before waiting for the filesystem to be mounted. This specific version is what you can download below.
Note that that you are manually dealing with the flash0 of your PlayStation Portable so be sure that you know exactly what you are doing. Dark AleX mentioned that he will be making a formal release once all the problems have been sorted out.
QJ.NET would like to thank Ari Bornstein for the heads up!
