Description: We're sending word that developer MK2k has released Chess Clock PSP v1.0 for use among the homebrew community. As its name implies, this application is an Analogue Chess/Game Clock Simulator built to run on Sony's handheld gaming system.<br><br>It's written in C++ code, and was built using the JGE++ engine developed by Dr. Watson, and the Chipmunk Game Physics library by Slembcke. Chess Clock v1.0 has been built to run on firmwares 3.xx, and currently carries these features:<br><br> * Two connected clocks<br> * Each clock containing:<br> * a big clock pointer<br> * a small clock pointer<br> * a flag<br> * a star-shaped wheel for activity indication<br> * 2D physics simulation on the flags<br> * The pointers are rotating by an estimated angle velocity, so this app does NOT feature the most accurate clocks on the planet (it may vary by some seconds per hour)<br><br>Installation and usage instructions for this app are available in the file bundle's readme. That aside, MK2k also posted a short historical lesson on where Chess Clocks originated, and a rundown of some of the clock's uses in a chess match.
