LOL We've had it since 2002 Oo Its ancient as a phonograph LOL Thanx guys. So we decided to break down and get a whole new computer It came out to 1647 smackaroos Oo Here's the specs; Sorry its long. It came out a bit more expensive cause we also got a small laptop. So Sweet!!! : D Though i do have a question, i still am a bit confused about the Ram. If it says "8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz - 6 DIMMs" Is that how much ram it has, 8Gigs? Ive only known computers to have up to 512 MB's of ram Oo

seems a bit expensive but I haven't looked at computer stuff in a while. Seems alright though for having a 1tb hard drive, 8gb of ram, and a decent hard drive. um oh looking at it now you are including a monitor so thats probably what is bumping up the price. Depending on the price of that monitor if it is say above $175 I would probably take it off. You can go to like newegg and get a 19 - 20 inch monitor for like $100 bucks. Also if you are a storage phobia type person and want the best bang for your buck, depending on the price of that 1tb hard drive if it is above like $150 I would... again go to newegg you can get a 1tb hard drive for like $70. If It was me buying this computer I would just get like 5 of those 1tb hard drives from newegg (equals like $350) and you get 5tb of storage. Then make them raid.,and you could have it so 2.5tb is usable storage, and the other 2.5tb is mirrored to the first so if anything happens you have a back up ;)

Yea thats a little expensive, my new one cost about $1000 w/o a monitor

Same as yours but with Office 2007
4GB RAM (A lot cheaper to upgrade than buy their ram)
500 GB HDD
And a printer/scanner/copier.

There was a sale I saw later - $200 for a 24" flat panel widescreen 1080p monitor so I picked that up.

Have you already ordered it yet?

I never buy pre built computers. There just loaded with stupid trials and annoying programs that you never want/use. But if you dont know how to build one its fine to buy one. When I do receive one that has the factory shipped OS on it the first thing I do every time is Reinstall Debian or Xp on it. I didn't like vista. But seven Is doing much better. Had the beta and it ran like a champ. But im just ranting now. And damn that's a good deal on that 24 inch monitor. Full 1080 for 200? wish I came by that.

Yea that's real steep but it's prebuilt, what do you expect? But I haven't purchased a prebuilt computer in a couple years excluding my netbook. Although you will love that netbook Jin, they are awesomesauce. :)

Also yes, that is indeed 8gb of ram. It's actually been quite commonly lately for any computer to have a t least 2gb of ram in it lol, get with the times dude! But I guess that is a somewhat good price for a prebuilt computer, a netbook, and a monitor. About like 1k for the computer im guessing, which aint too shabby for a prebuilt. Especially with a i7 in it, 8gb that thing is quite beasty.

You can uninstall those trials
There is nothing wrong with Visita
Windows 7 is good
And if I was struck on cash I would rather pay $100 bucks for like a 20' monitor instead of a $200+ monitor

Its prebuilt with microsoft windows trail, I can give you the kegen for it aswell if you want so basicly you dont haveto download microsoft and you get £100 of software for free.
Also yea its prebuilt but because of how fast it is it takes seconds to uninstall.
Also my mum bought hers for $380.
Thanks, Alex. Also ive got a 250 Gig computer(4 Gig ram) 320Gig HDD but i may buy 2 Terrabyte with a Usb docking Hub for my computer and from my wii, so i can use both at the same time.

^The monitor was $200 by itself, but tax and a set of speakers set it up to like $250.

This thread has gone a bit far.

RIMM modules are what cavemen used to use to scratch into rocks. In my opinion as someone that is very technologically inclined (and taught ace a lot), I'd say you have two options.

1. Don't upgrade - deal with it.
2. Get an entirely new computer. RIMM modules are so old and if you'd upgraded to the largest capacity RIMM module that was ever made you would still be operating slower than moderately timed DRAM DDR1 400 RAM, which is still very old. Newer computers have DDR2 and the NEWEST computers have DDR3 RAM. You'll be a lot better off getting a cheap computer with some DDR2 or something and you'll notice a huge difference in performance and accessibility.

I am not a computer genius just know how to use one :D That is why we went ahead and bought the Dell Studio XPS with the parts i showed u guys earlier. Cause of the monitor and that laptop for me it was a bit pricey but looks SO worth IT! :D I already have a monitor here, but i want to give this Dell Dimension 8200 comp to my little cousin. That way she can do her homework a lot easier. Though my aunt n uncle better buy her a printer cause the one i have is MINE :D It doesnt have ink anymore anyways. Evil little cartridges are so expensive these days, i haven't found any place that refills Dell printers Oo I will be glad once i get rid of this Etch n' Sketch lol
