i have an idea about this customized firmware thing. I have a program called pbpunpacker and it allows u can make custom eboots. Ok so theres a file in the eboot called data.psar this contains whats going in the firmware. Well and neat litte program called psardump extracts all the firmware files from the psar, like a psar from 2.00 so what i was thinking was take the freedom of homebrew from 1.5, the codecs and web browsing from 2.00 put them into a psar with pbpunpacker, i think it can do it, put them into an eboot and u make a cool firmware for the psp. im not much of coder or hacker or whatever so i was wandering if anyone knows about this stuff, do you think thats possible?

Sorry to SXT and the PSP Community
Dec 04, 2005 - 1:29 PM - by train2335
We at PSP 3D are sorry for all the stuff that has happened this past week. It was a big missunderstanding on both of our parts. We should have double checked with SXT about the NAND Flasher, and we should have been better informed about the ramifications of the flasher. However, we (the admin) were misinformed, and had the feeling we were allowed to post the flasher once it was tested.

And about what WAB is saying on their site....We had NOTHING to do with them. They are just trying to piss SXT off.

Finally, we'd like to say sorry to SXT and the rest of the PSP community one last time for all of this drama that has been going around regarding the firmware flasher.

Apologies for overreacting

SonyxTeam News We would like to give our apologies to psp3d for overreacting about the NAND story

I spoke to some members of their team and here are the facts:

- We gave a nand writter and a nand to psp3d for testing purposes

- They did test it and it bricked their psps

- They gave it to test for members on their forums

- About 30 of those members claimed it worked and downgraded their psps to 1.00

- PSP3D believed them and released the NAND writter as working

Conclusion: Never trust any psp scene members unless they come with some proofs....

I think psp3d got a lesson here, and that it wont happen again.
After all we all learn from our errors.

Anyway we overreacted, we wanted to give our apologies regarding that fact.

no, its real, but theres a good chance u will brick your psp. There was confusion about the whole thing, and psp3d released the downgrader, and 30 people said it works (they werent suppose to release it in the first place)

Just for the sake of all of this, I say you don't downgrade or whatever until furthur notice. Until someone else has done it like the 2.0 downgrade, then it's all fine. Just talking about it right now won't help you much...
