Could rom damage PSP? ...

Just got the PSP and been going crazy on the Emulators.

For most of the emulators, the games are centered on the screen, leaving a huge blank space on both sides of the screen.

I remember reading the manual for my big screen TV's that you should never leave a blank screen on the TV for a long time nor watch a lot of Widescreen Movies excessively (over years of watching widescreen movies will eventually leave a black bar on the top and bottom).

Could this ... happen to my PSP if I overplay my Roms? :?

Maybe I'm being paranoid. Oh well, I still got warranty anyway.

Maybe playing Chrono Trigger/Mario RPG for hours on end isnt such a good idea on the PSP -_-

awell lots of people can easily get addicted to games like snes.Especially snes cuz they have the most greatest games ever.So just dont play it too much and dont leave it on.If u want to leave it where you left off just kinda flick the power button.Flicking it willl go into sleep mode.If u hold the power button for like 5 seconds the psp wil turn right off.Thats one strategy u can use.

I suppose I could stretch the picture so it'll cover the whole screen but it'll look hideous...

I guess I should follow the Official Nintendo guidelines and take a 15 minute break hourly.

Yeah...that could happen. But in reality though, it will take a long time like say 2-3 years or more unless someone plays it 24-7. And by then, the psp would be either be replaced with a better version or the pricing will be significantly cheaper. Add in some newer homebrew apps in those and it would literally be as good as new. In the meantime, just follow what the other guys are suggesting like sleep mode and such.

So let's say that after watching a umd movie or a saved movie (normal screen mode) for a couple of hours will leave screen burn-ins? So you're saying that Sony made a machine that's only good for playing one movie and that's it??? Cause that's what you're implying right? ("2-3 hours")
