I was very skeptical of Vista, but after using it for about two weeks now, I can safely say that I've ran into absolutely zero problems. There was ONE issue I had for a day where I couldn't access a server to play one of my games online, but I just went into the security options and set it to "run as administrator" and all is well. I like how Vista looks out for you much better than previous operating systems. I'll admit, I used Vista once when it was close to its release, and it was plagued with bugs, but it seems that 99% of them are fixed now and I'm more than pleased with Vista on my laptop (my main computer).
The ONLY downside to Vista is that it does take up quite a bit of ram. I have 2gb of pretty fast ram (ddr2 533mhz @ 4-4-4-8 timings) and at "idle" (with 57 processes going), I'm using up 35% of my ram. That's fine to me though, because even when I'm gaming for an hour or so the ram doesn't even soak up over 60%. In fact, now that I think about it... I haven't seen my ram EVER go above 60% on here, so that's good.
