Gundam Battle Assault 2 PSX help

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody else has had any trouble getting this game to work. It loads fine and all the character selection stuff works. But after you pick your character and level and try to load it the psp's screen just goes blank (kinda like bsod but black without any writing lol). Ive tried 2 different eboots for it (its just an iso converted to eboot) and both have the same problem (though both are different file size). Im currently running the latest non-beta version of dark alex's custom firmware.
