HELP!!Updating a TA-082 with 3.40 to 3.50

I am trying to update my TA-082 w/ 3.40FW to 3.50FW so I can then Downgrade. I am using the tutorial "Ultimate Starters Guide" I have successfully downloaded the 3.50FW update but the tutorial says to place it in the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder. For one there is no "UPDATE" folder under the PSP/GAME menu, I have tried to create an update folder then place the file there this did not work, only showing up as "corupted data" on the psp under the memory stick/ game menu. I have also tried to just place the update file directly in the game folder without creating an update folder and this also did not work. The update is showing up as a PBP file and windows cant open it, i dont know if this is the problem. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

You should make an 'UPDATE' file under 'GAME' and stick the files in there, maybe rename it to 'UPDATE.PBP'? Then exit out of USB mode and go to GAME -> Memory Stick and go to the 3.50 Installer.

So you have the Lumines I game? unpatched right?
