does this require modding the PSP battery?

Depends, can you run homebrew already on your PSP?

Omg. I'm an idiot.
Why did I ask.... I'm sorry, your first post said all the information I needed.
To get 3.10 OE to 3.90 m33-2, you need to upgrade to 3.52 OE* then to 3.90 m33 then to 3.90 m33-2.
I'm sure someone can help you do this.
I have no clue how to.

*I'm not sure of the exact firmware for this part.

not to be rude or offensive, but if i had the instructions, i wouldn't have posted this thread. i would rather follow someone's tutorial just to ensure that i'm doing the upgrade correctly.

Does anyone know if this upgrade will still work with NES, SNES, Genesis, and ISOs and CSOs? Or should I stay with 3.52 M33-4 a bit longer?

If you have the 1.50 kernel installed on your 3.80/3.90 m33 fat then you can run your emulators fine. And of course you can use isos and csos
