psp-1001 firmware 2.82 annnd im lost

So ive been doing my best to read through the tutorials and figure out how to mod this thing, but Im a bit lost. I do not have access to the GTA game needed for the softmod. so im guessing I have to go with the pandora battery hack.

well i guess im reading new and old guides, so this is where im getting lost. If i do the pandora hack, i mod the battery blah blah blah, then i need to get a new battery? i need a new battery? or i instal something called timemachine (i keep finding broken links to tutorials with this)??

Ive tried searching/googleing, and im not sure if what im looking at is outdated, update or even right.

Could someone point me in the right direction? lol

You could use ChickHEN if you update yours to 5.03... DON'T update past it though or else you'll need a pandora battery. For a tutorial on ChickHEN you can go here http://psp.brewology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16738

When you update it, don't use the internet update or w/e it's called, do it manually. If you do it by using the icon on the PSP it'll make you go past 5.03. If you have any questions about it I'll check back to this forum regularly

I'd'ave said to make a MMS, go m33, then update to 5.50 Gen-d. either way works

To begin the update process, press the "X" button once more. It wipes the screen clean, disappears for a few seconds, and then reappears with the message "PSP System Software Version 2.00" and a "Start" button,pacman 30th anniversary or it informs you that you don't need to install the update because your Playstation Portable is already on version 2.00.
