Replacing a case is a piece of cake. Just take out the 5 screws on the bottom of the case, open, take out the 10-11 screws holding in your mobo and the 2 holding in your power supply and swap them. *note that some minor modification is required to transfer a v1.6 mobo into a 1.0-1.5 case. As for getting a 128MB RAM mobo (if you can find one) they run around $140 but are difficult to come by. Theyre really only useful for running linux and some emulators. For most things you dont need one.

As for instatlling RAM yourself... good luck. You'll need to desolder 100 legs on each of four RAM chips to remove them from one motherboard and resolder those 400 legs back onto the new motherboard making sure each solderpoint has a perfect connection. Thats why so few people do it and sell them.

wow, ram fits snug into a slot dude, its not soldered, just like a pci card has a slot do does ram. But when u buy ram heres what u got to consider:
1. parity checking (less corrupt data but slow for gaming)
2.cass latency or CL (the lower, the faster but u gotta get what ur mobo supports)
3. ddr, ddr2 etc. (different mobos accept different kinds of ram ddr is the last fastest but most mobos use that, ddr2 is faster and uses less current. ddr has like 180 or something close to that pins and ddr2 has like 240, so they cant be mixed up.)
3. speed (ur motherboard has a speed at which the north works, open the case and MOST of the time the north bridge (usuaslly has the second heat sink next to the cpu, has a speed ex. ddr 400, which u gotta get ddr 400 ram)

Did youu read any of the previous posts? In an xbox individual RAM chips are soldered directly onto the motherboard.

Here is my setup I had last weekend when I put a mod chip and set up two different xboxes at once using two of my other ones.

This one has nothing to do with the others I just came across it in my iphoto libray and liked it. The top of the case has a hole cut in it and a jewel was cleared using brasso. Underneath them is a cold cathode ring taken off of a $10 computer fan. I then went to a glass cutting shop and had them cut a piece of mirror a diameter equal to that of the outside of the ring. The back of the mirror was covered with electrical tape to prevent shorting (there is often metals inside the back coating of mirrors). The tape was cut with an exacto knife and the mirror attached to the protective casing around the cold cathode using silicon sealent. And there you go my first tutorial with no relevant pictures to accompany it. *takes another shot*

The l;aptop is through my job (which is why it's a PC), the green halo edition Xbox has a 250GB hard drive and the blue Kasumi xbox has a 320 GB one.

well, here's my sh*t

this is my AMAZING computer
Image

these are just my gaming/computer magazines
Image

these are my two other computers (also very good lol)
Image

my 3 PSPs and gameboy advanced (that was the only thing i bought from nintendo so i dont keep up-to-date with them)
Image

my first ps2 on the top, then some of my ps2 CDs (those aren't all of my games believe me lol)
Image

my second ps2 with headset
Image

each of those CD cases (colored ones: blue, green black etc...) has about 24 ps2 games in them and the rest are just single computer CDs/DVDs
Image

my internet connect that i hooked up: yeah, i know there's a lot of routers and modems and sh*t, but that's why i have such a fast connection ;-) lol
Image

my fourth computer, i don't use it so i just keep it in the corner of my room. (i also i have a laptop but it's in my other room)
Image

and that's my major hook-up ingeneral including: tv, dvd player, internet hook-up, 2 ps2s, cds, movies etc.
Image

and these are my palm pilots, portable eletronic organisers, flash drive, black DVDs and multi card reader.
Image

and yeah, that's most of it, i still have some more, but i just got bored with taking pictures :P
