Updating?

Hey, bit of a noob question.

Whats the deal with firmware updates and the homebrew chanel?
If i upgrade to the latest official firmware does it disable the use of homebrew channel?

Also, is there any work being done on a custom firmware?

The latest firmware, 3.4, broke homebrew ability, but they have restored homebrew channel functionality. You cannot however install copied WADs or use trucha signed discs.

3.3 allows for wads, but still no trucha signed discs.

3.2 allows everything.
