i dunno you could still make the claim that consoles are in fact better for playing games because their unique design. for example i know the ps2 has 4 processors in it. thats why ps2 emulation is F**king hard. some one show me a comp running four processors at once?

you don't need 4 processors you only need about 2 1/2 processors overclocked and a few cereal boxes

Show me a comp that NEEDS 4 processors running at once :D

Yes, for the sake of gaming consoles are slightly better. Why? Because they are built for the sole purpose of gaming. I'm not sure about now because graphics cards have changed a lot in 4 years, but at least before you could get nice, smooth 3d graphics on consoles where as on comps 3d graphics were still slightly blocky.

This, however, is changing... eventually computers will be at the center of our every day lives... I foresee hardcopy media becoming obsolete.

anyways back on topic:

I've heard about this but don't know if its true, has your Wii had the yellow light on the whole time?

I've yet to heard about someone's Wii breaking due to overheating from it but
the reason why because the system is in standby mode and WiiConnect24
is still on without a fan. When you hold it down it turns red, the whole system is off along with WC24.

Red Light = Off

Yellow = Standby/Wiiconnect24

Green= On

is it safe to leave it on in with the red light? because there still is a light on, so that means something is still powered.

again, the red light means its off along with WC24,

yellow light means its on standboy and the Wii will start to OVERHEAT if you leave it on too long.

not all Wiis overheat. Mine doesn't. Just depends on your Wii and how it is positioned.

well just call nintendo, I think they will either try to fix it or send you a brand new one with another 1 year warranty.

And I'm sure they will prevent whatever caused it from happening in the future.
