Okay i need some serious help with my firmware / apps.

So ive been getting all these nifty little programs for my new homebrewed psp (Yes im a nub when it comes to the psp and ive been trying to do stuff myself) Anyway im running firmware 3.71 M33. Only thing ive been able to get to work is Supersmash bros. But all the things i really want like WiFi Sniffer, and Universal Remote and such applications wont work. I run them and it always says Game Cannot Run. Or it says corrupt data. Im confused. I thought it was really 1.5 core with the 3.71 goodies. Or am i wrong. If im doing something wrong pls help. I need directions. I really want to beable to use the universal remote feature if anyone has tips pls help!
blah i got charged 10 bucks from some dude at my work to unbrick my psp. AH

There's a new version of that firmware out now. Check the front page. That may solve your problems. Also, I haven't installed that firmware, but if it's like the others, hold the R button while powering on the PSP and you will enter recovery mode. While in there, make sure to check the homebrew folder to the 1.50 kernel for better success loading homebrew programs.

I have that firmware. Well update 2 now. But anyway by default its at 3.71. So yes change that 1.50 kernal. That makes all work again. One other thing, PMF OPENINGS DO NOT WORK ANYMORE. I hate that. Its because sony changed the firmware style ever since the OE code go leaked by some stupid people.

And DPM.....Im starting to beleive 3.71 is based almost COMPLETELY on 3.52. Because if you have the original (not update 2!) and switch between kernals it says going to 3.52 but then says 3.71. Get it? Like when your at 1.50 kernal and try to go up it says "going to 3.52" but says 3.71 on the menu. Its easier to see what i mean then to explain it. They adressed this issue in update 2

wtf....

Nope still says it cant run the programs. I am using iR shell aswell still wont work. Also is there some trick to entering recovery mode cause i cant seem to get the timing down. If its just holding right trigger while turning it on mine must be screwy or something.

You need to turn off the psp completely (hold down the power button for like 5 secs) then hold the r trig and turn the psp on, and hold the r trig until the recovery menu pops up.
