Video problem

I just got my PSP 2 days ago and I manged to install firmware 3.40oe-a but I have a problem converting my videos to the psp.
I tried using Xilisoft psp video converter and Winavi converter, everytime I convert a music clip or an anime episode it works fine but when converting a movie or a long video all I get is a corrupted data file!!
plz can anyone tell why am I getting this , should I get another program for conversion?

Thanks

Try getting PSP Video 9. Works wonders, and also transfers the movie for you after you are done. Just to be clear, you don't have to convert music files, all you need to convert is movies, which need to be converted to .mp4.

make sure the settings are on your firmware version and also check the profile is on your desired one choosing MPEG4 or AVC (knwoing that you put them in the appropriate folders) and it should be fine wat video are you trying to convert youtube ones?

They are not youtube videos , I tried .wmv , mpeg , avi , mkv , mov almost all formats and still the long movies readed as corrupted filed on the PSP , and I tried alot of programs like winavi , psp video 9 , Xilisoft psp converter . and I've tried copying to the video folder and to the MP_ROOT\100MNV01 .
Is there a thing that I must do on the psp's setting to play the movie?

Ok so im guessing you converted them EXACTLY like you did the short clips? Mhmmm, like did you get the movie off a dvd or like a torrent? Like just give us one for example that won't work and what is the length on it.
Also try enabling WMA playback. I doubt it will help any, but yah know sometimes just smacking something will make it work. So who knows.

I tried both Dvds and movies downloaded from the internet like spiderman 3 , the reaping , TMNT and some personal videos.

I think the duration of the movies are from 60 mins to 120 mins .

and about the WMA playback it requires connection to the internet , ain't that gonna download a newer firmware or something?

No, all it does is enable WMA playback. If you have a custom firmware, you can do it through the recovery menu though.

my firmware is 3.40 OE-A atm and i am able to use PSP Video 9. for some reason tho it wouldnt work earlier but now i can convert movies to MPEG and just stick the file into the 'VIDEO' folder, i dont even use the 'MP_ROOT' folder. i guess just keep trying and experiment with psp video 9 and try to get it working.
