ok, i'm not sure i understood you that well in the first part there, but i'm pretty sure theres almost always a way to unbrick a PSP slim and theres always a way to install Official firmware back onto it.

as for your second part there, you'll want to use the "Despertar Cementerio" version of the pandora battery, because it automatically updates the PSP to 3. 71m33-2, and works on PSP slims well. I've done it on a slim, and it works great, on Phats as well.

if you need to update when theres new custom firmware, you just run the update in the game section like a homebrew game, or you can just use an updated version of the pandora battery/despertar cementerio that automatically installs the new firmware.

I hope that helps.

So far there have been no firmwares released that the pandoras battery cannot downgrade. You can easily update the custom firmware once you get on it. Well I guess if you want, you could buy the warranty, as long as SONY doesn't know that you downgraded and where on custom firmware and all that. But the Pandora's Battery method can fix any psp really. Unless you like break it and drop it or something.

ya buying a warrentee is up to you if you think you might drop it or break it physically in some way... but ya like advent said, as long as sony doesnt know you put CFW on it, they'll fix it. You could also always just take it back to the store you bought it from if you mess it up and it would probably be easy to return. And ya its easily updated after you install CFW

ye thanx for the warrant help guys i didnt get it lol it was 40$ haha but sorry i wasnt clear on my first post what i was trying to say is that there is a shopping mall and i found a store that downgrades psp's and he said its 40$ for 3.71 m33 and i asked him to leave the files in the memory card the files that he used to downgrade the psp like update.something and he said he wont he will just downgrade my psp to 3.71 m33 and if there is new updates he will charge me 20$ for those since i had him downgrade it and i was wondering and i make the files my self and update the homebrew if i already have an homebrew like i have 3.71 m33 when he does it and then 2 weeks later 3.80 m33 comes out can i update it my self or do i go to the guy and pay 20$. and by the way i have a slim psp. cuz when i asked him cuz i update it 3.80 m33 when it comes out his like no u need pandora magic card ur gonna brick it man dont come to me..... so i was just wondering is this guy sh*t or not lol thanx alot guys

huh, where do you live? i've never heard of a store that did that... what kind was it?

and ya you can update by yourself now, thats an easier process than the initial "modding" of the psp. And dont worry about bricking it, if you follow instructions carefully you wont have to worry about bricking it, and plus most of the time updates wont brick it anway. Even though i bricked mine that way, you can recover it with a pandora battery/modded battery. 20 dollars is pretty steep, i would try and do as much on your own to avoid paying that kind of money. Also, i think you should just try to find out how to do some things on your own, i mean 40 dollars is a lot... and 20 for updates following...ya.

Hey welcome to the site. Well the 3.80 downgrader would be the 'Pandora's Battery; Method. There are plenty of tutorials that teach how to make the battery and there are several methods of doing different things. However, making the Pandora's Battery and the special Memory stick does require another psp with custom firmware, since the Pandora installer is a homebrew app and only custom firmware can run homebrew apps. (or 1.50) So if you know anyone with custom firmware, you can get them to make you the battery and memory stick.

There IS a tutorial of how to make the battery by opening your battery up and soldering a pin, but there is a chance you might break your battery. And you can make the memory stick files yourself using this tutorial http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/591203
Making the Pandora's Battery requires an old "phat" battery though, the slims won't work and the new phat batteries won't work for they have been "fixed" by SONY.

Here are some tutorials about making the pandora's battery and the special memory stick

Take a look at those and see which one you would like to use.

You still gotta downgrade using the Pandora's Battery to get on CFW and play homebrew :(.
