Why dont my downloaded games work?

Everytime i download a game or a application from pspbrew
i put it into my GAME folder located at
x:/PSP/COMMON/GAME

it saves and i then go to memory stcik in my psp and press start to
start the game and it opens then says 'the game could not be started.(80020148)
what does this mean and how do i fix it?

The game is chicken invaders and it is in its own folder inside 'GAME'
and its contents are another folder named system and other icons saying
things lick eloader.pbp, ELOADERPRX.prx
In the syatem folder it contains a icon saying system.lua, what is this?

You talking about emulators and homebrew games? Do you have custom firmware?

Yeh i am
i just tried getting custom firmware
but everytime i put it in i got the same answer.. game cannot be started.

I tried M33 v 3.51creator then updater 3.72 HX-1,HX-2full and mini
and it said data was corrupted.
Im currently running firmware 3.80 from sony. Do i need to downgrade
or start from the very bottom of the custom firmwares or sumthing?

Yeh i am? So you are on custom firmware?
And the custom firmware installers are HOMEBREW apps. Official firmware can't run homebrew, so ya need a 1.50 psp or psp with custom firmware to run homebrew. BTW: don't get on the HX firmware, just M33.

You need to look at the following tutorial...

http://www.pspbrew.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 1551#91551

and pretty much do that to get homebrew going on your psp. Official Sony firmwares can't do all the fun stuff. The m33 creator you are trying to run is a homebrew application and can be used AFTER you have downgraded to 1.50. Sony's firmware 1.50 had holes in the security so it allowed the use of homebrew. That's why we downgrade to 1.50. We can then take advantage of those security holes to run homebrew and custom firmware installers.

So, follow the tutorial and downgrade your psp. Then follow other tutorials we have on our site to install custom firmwares.
